Lucky's big adventure

This was Lucky's stomach after she got into the dog food bin and ate her body weight in chow.

This was her stomach later that night, after the nice vet at the all-night emergency clinic induced vomiting and Lucky threw up a mountain of said chow.

Lesson learned? We certainly hope so.

  3. Oh no! At least it was something that could be regurgitated, rather than surgically removed. She is a lucky Lucky! Tanner Squid would do the same thing if given half a chance I'm sure;-)

    1. We were fearing the worst when we brought her in....what a relief it was when the vet said she could barf it all up! And right after the throwing up of the chow, she was her usual bouncy self!

  5. A story with a happy ending! Lucky looks a bit remorseful. I've never understood why dogs don't seem to have the instinctual common sense not to eat things (and/or amounts of things) that are going to make them sick? Our chihuahua is terrible that way.

    1. I've had a few dogs that were "free feeders" but the majority of them seem to think they have to eat everything in sight. Must be part of the survival instinct.

  6. Well that is just koo koo. That's like me and mini-powdered doughnuts. Guess we just can't help it, huh Lucky?!
SO glad he got the care he needed. I'm curious, how was he behaving after he scarfed down all that food? Guilty and moaning? Poor thing. Yay for the outcome anyway.
You might need to get a bear proof container, Sagey! Hah!

    1. We noticed she was pretty bloated after dinner but couldn't figure out why....we feed her outside so she doesn't bother the other two. As the evening progressed, she got very lethargic and even more bloated. I called the emergency clinic and they told me to bring her in. The rest is, um, history.

And we just might need a bear-proof container with this little monster! All I can figure is when I filled the bin with food (screw top bin, btw) I must have forgotten to put the lid on when I threw out the dog food bag. Lucky saw the opportunity and took full advantage.

  9. Hello....I can't wait to see what you do in the way of cross stitch. I stopped for so many years but I kept books, patterns and thread. I probably will not do as much as before but right now I am enjoying working on the ornaments. I still have 14 to go! Have fun and post when done. Pam

  10. Oh my goodness!! Poor baby!! I hope he's feeling better. I remember when Jim and I first started dating. Brady ate an entire bag of rainbow colored gummy worms and threw up all over Jim while he was sleeping. Lol!! If he didn't head for the hills then he was never gonna leave us!!! : ) Are you ready for tonight's TWD? So hard to believe the season is almost over!!! : ( xoxo

    1. Gummy worms! I can imagine what that looked like!
TWD is getting pretty interesting....but I hate the "who will live and who will die" suspense!

And yes, Lucky is doing fine. I have to pour a new bag of chow into the bin today....and I will be watching her every move!
