the thing finders

Yes, Mr Sage and I are thing finders. I am notorious for bringing home bones and rocks of all sorts and he loves the rusty pioneer treasures. Here are a few of the things we found on our last thing-finding expedition.

To be fair, the dogs find things too but some of the things they find are too nasty to photograph.
And....they don't give up their treasures too easily. I usually end up prying the occasional "found" rabbit or lizard from their jaws.
But....we're all deliriously happy, roaming that wild country, and that's what counts.

"I am a thing finder, and when you're a thing finder, you don't have a minute to spare.  The whole world is full of things and somebody has to look for them." -- Astrid Lindgren

It's fun finding these artifacts. I have found lots of old glass bottles on my walks around here, but I get most excited
about little skulls. As a matter of fact, it's been a while since I've found sumthin' good. hmpf. lol

    1. Mr Sage was over the top excited when he found the watch! He found it with his metal detector and I believe it was his best find yet.
Like you, I'm thrilled with little skulls and bones. Our house is filled with them. :)
And it sounds like it's time you got out there and found some good things too! Happy hunting!

  8. Your post made me laugh out loud!! :) I pictured you trying to pry open your dogs' mouths. We've had to do that many times here as well. Lol!! You and your honey always find such wonderful "things!!" Love that pocket watch!! What the heck was that in the tree?? What is your most favorite finding ever? Your husband doesn't count!! : ) xoxo

    1. That thing in the tree was either a very large rabbit leg or a small coyote. Better in the tree than in Pinto's mouth!
My favorite found thing ever? Besides Mr Sage, I would have to say Pinto was the best find. And Durango was the one who found her!
