slow

Warm days. Slow days. The days between the days in Colorado.

It's so warm, the buds are opening and it feels like spring. Wait, I think it IS spring here in the desert.

Mr Sage bought the latest Walking Dead compendium for me....I can hardly put it down!

I received a beautiful coloring book in a giveaway sponsored by this wonderful and talented woman http://deb-posted-from-home.blogspot.com/. Thank you, Deb! (Her original artwork is included in the coloring book!)

Made this recipe a few days ago: http://www.cookingclassy.com/2015/01/cheesy-vegetable-chowder-aka-broccoli-cheese-potato-soup/

Durango dreams of chasing rabbits.
And I'm considering diving into another rag rug rescue.

Nice and slow. That's how February is shaping up. And that's ok with me.
How is February treating you?

  1. Adult coloring is all the rage these days! You should SEE how many coloring style and entangle books I check in and out from the library every day. Coloring craze! Deb sent you a good one...Stampingtons is classic. Isn't she the sweetest? Queen of creativity. I've learned a lot just from looking at her artwork.
February is not a slow time for me. I'm raring to go! For the first time since November, I'm not seeing piles of dirty snow! It's melted!
I love that it's 50 degrees here. I wore flip flops today.
But, your soup looks devine...and the sage.
Did you find another old rug to fix?? Ha!

    1. Adult coloring! I love that! Honestly, I spend hours coloring and not thinking about a single thing except which color I will use next. :)

And WOW! 50 degrees in Wyoming! In February! I can remember that giddy feeling that would come when we would break 45 degrees in Wisconsin! Enjoy these weird, warm days!

I have one more heirloom rug waiting for an overhaul. This one is pretty badly worn, so I'm thinking it's going to take some time....

    1. I manage to squeeze in coloring time between rag rug rescue and zombies. ;)

And this weather....where was our winter? We had snow on the ground once this year. Once!
Maybe we will all get a good spring snow yet.

  3. We've definitely caught the coloring book bug around here!! My son and his girlfriend sat in front of the fireplace during our recent snowfall and colored for hours. I felt relaxed just watching them!! Megan and I have been coloring together as well. Usually "Frozen" themed pages. : ) That soup looks so delicious. I just told my son the other day that I wanted to make a chowder for the next new soup recipe. I think I might try my hand at New England clam chowder. Have you ever made it before? It's a beautiful day in New York today. Mr. Bigglesworth is sitting in the bathroom window checking out the birds flying by and probably plotting his next escape. Ugghh!!! Lol!!! xoxo

    1. Coloring in front of the fireplace....what a lovely way to spend a snowy day. (Now, if we only had some snow!)

I've never had clam chowder. You will have to let me know how your pot of chowder turns out! Maybe I'll give it a try!

And that Mr Bigglesworth....he just may need a GPS on his collar!

  4. I just love your photos! The Peerless Weighing Machine is priceless!
That coloring book looks great, and now I've discovered Deb / Vintage Sparrow Studio, thank you!

It feels like spring is starting here, too. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom and trees are budding all over the place. But it's still chilly, and I've been making a lot of soup and hanging out watching netflix as well. Balance ;)

    1. Isn't that Peerless mirror the best? I bought it for a quarter(!) at a yard sale and framed it. I have it hanging in the kitchen!

Soup and Netflix....sounds like you've found the perfect balance in these February days. :)
