rest

....because mr sage has been fighting a nasty cold for far too long. Rest, because the "Ididtoomuchandmyshoulderiskillingme" injury returned with a vengeance. And more rest, because Durango sprained his leg and has to stay off the injured limb. (He refuses to believe there will be no long walks or tennis ball games in the foreseeable future.)

It seems Pinto is the only member of the sagebrush household who wasn't sidelined this month. If only I could teach her to cook and clean...but do I really want her trying to make pancakes?

Sometimes it's good to just step back and let the world go by for a while.

  1. Lay low, y'all!!
Hot & soothing tea time...down time...knitting seems to be a non-shoulder-use activity....do I see a SWEATER in the making, Sagey?
Sorry for the sad face on Durango. He'll be chasing rabbits in no time. Tell him I promise!
Higgs all around the S&S casa!

    2. Poor Durango....he's got that "I am so pathetic so feel sorry for me" look mastered! But these days it's rest now, rabbits later.

I'm knitting slippers...something small and easy to pack for the snowy country in Colorado/Utah. I'll post a photo when they're finished. I'm still building up to sweater-knitting level!

      And higgs....we'll take them!

    1. We tend to push ourselves too hard here and don't quite know when to stop. The peace that has come with rest has been priceless.

I hope you're feeling the same peace these days.

  5. rest is the hardest work of all when it isn't done by choice! sounds like your household has been give a directive, though, and it looks like you especially have figured out a way to make the most of it! i say let Pinto have a go at the pancakes-- you'll never know until you try!
get well soon, the bunch of you!!

    1. Yes, we were given a directive! Our bodies decided it was time to stop the crazy pace and take life as it comes.
And Pinto....she would love nothing more than a chair pulled up to the stove and a bowl of pancake batter! She would be up to her elbows in batter!

    1. Pinto was climbing the walls! No one to play with and no one felt like walking! But Durango is back to his puppy-like self again and the rest of us are doing fine. I guess all we needed was some down time.
