quiet time

I love the days between the this year and the next, balancing between the present and the future. These days are quiet, reflective. There are early morning walks in the desert cold and afternoons finishing the projects started earlier this year. There's lots of dog cuddling and contemplation. Mostly, there's gratitude for each day, and for each of you, scattered around the world, as you've brought so much into my life this year.

Wishing you all a very happy new year, filled with everything your heart desires.

christmas past

Wishing each and every one of you peace, happiness, and a good old-fashioned cardboard fireplace.
May all your future memories be good ones.

between the dark and the light

Finding quiet in my surroundings, because I have a need for peace, a need for a place to breathe. Seeing the small things, the everyday sacred that makes sense, that brings calm to my world.
I wear the clouds that cover the sky. I stand in the dark of the early evening, count the few stars that shine through and ask for snow.

As the solstice approaches, I find myself turning inward, seeking solitude, living between the dark and the light. This time of year, this neolithic moment, it suits me.

May you all find peace, however you choose to welcome the solstice. xx

life is good

Celebrating my favorite season!

Linking up with Chrisy down under at living a good north coast life and sharing a little of the natural world around us.
