As if all this beauty wasn't enough to make me smile....it was all a part of knowing I had returned. Hummingbirds and swallows flew along with me as I walked and crows called to each other in the distance. Flowers covered the earth. The promise of rain was in the air. Springtime had welcomed me back to my mesa.
A quick, last minute trip to Colorado, finding myself sidetracked in Utah, and packing a whole lifetime into three glorious, if not cold and wet and snowy, days.
This is the place I lay my heart on the sand, the place that smells of holy sage, the place I always return to. It's the place where the present, the past, and the prehistoric collide and become one, blowing in on the storms. The phenomenon leaves me in awe, my arms stretched to the sky, beckoning the gods to rain down on me, to drench me in the wonder of life.
May you enjoy the earth's secrets, mysteries, wildness, and weather as much as I do.
