spent the night in utah...

...in a cave up in the hills.
This wild and rugged country abounds with secret places and undiscovered treasures. Accompanied by my loyal and faithful companions, we explore every corner of this magical landscape.

Linking up with Chrisy down under at living a good north coast life and sharing a little of the natural world around us.

  3. Oh wow!! Did you build yourself a hut? You're really getting out there, groovin' in the dirt and dust and feeling so at home in the faraway.
You just might get some sleep tonite... ;)

    1. ...if I get home before daylight... ; )

We found the remains of either a homestead or sweatlodge off the west/southwest side of the mesa. A little fixing up and I could move right in!

  4. What !? You slept in a cave?
    Wow.

Ok....so if we had a competition on who connected with nature the most this week, you'd win hands down.
Was it scary? I guess not too much with the dogs there, but gee wiz woman........ ;)

    1. I can honestly say I feel safer in a cave in the hills than in the big city! I propose we have a contest....who can connect with nature the most. Imagine the crazy things we would do! ;)

    2. LOL, imagine!
Seriously though, l get what you're saying. It's like l explain to Bella. Don't be afraid of being out in the bush, even at night. All the noises you here are just animals, and we know about animals.
PS if the contest was retrospective l think l'd win with a photo of where l grew up as a child. When we lived out of town on the Multiple Occupancy (commune) we had no running water, no sewage and no electricity. We lived like that for five years, best upbringing ever.

    3. Plenty of noises, that's for sure. But....there's nothing out there at night that isn't out there during the day. (At least that's what I tell myself!)

Yes, you do win hands down! That sounds like an awesome childhood and an amazing experience! I would love to hear about it and see some photos of your time in the bush! xx

    4. Might have to pull out some photos, and write a blog post. :)
My husband loves how l was brought up, because he can take me camping anywhere and l'm not phased. Apparently a lot of other wives don't like to go places without toilets and running water. LOL

    5. You could write quite a few amazing blog posts with a childhood like that!
Plus, you're the perfect camping partner!
      :)
