mantis

He watches my every move. He stalks me in the grass. He observes me while he eats grasshoppers. This time of year, he rules the back yard. I don't argue.

    1. He's actually quite the beneficial insect, keeping the grasshopper population down in the yard. He just might become one very well-known mantis by the end of the season. I go out searching for him every day, but he's been hiding from the limelight lately.

  8. Such fantastic photos!! I think I've seen more praying mantises this year than ever before. It's nice to see they're making a comeback here. Come to think of it, I've seen several insects this season that I've never seen before, as well. Some in person and others that were posted by friends on Facebook. Have a beautiful weekend!! xoxo
