passage

I cross the badlands, hoodoos and strange grey hills mark my path.
I linger briefly in no man's land. I listen to the whisper of the wind, the crunch of my man's boot on hard, dry dirt.
I see my destination in the distance. I go forward, passage once again secured.

  1. Wow, what a landscape! So very different from what l am used to.
The grey hill looks like an outcrop of something, is it limestone? And what are you holding up? It looks like a fibrous crystal?
I see your photos, and l want to do is know more! :)

    1. The hills are bentonite clay....a little bit of volcanic ash, a little bit of evaporite minerals.
The crystal is gypsum, left over from the evaporation of the Cretaceous Sea. Maybe you'll come to the USA someday and I will take you on a tour of these crazy places! :)

  4. Some very interesting mountain & rock formations. I have heard that Texas often claims big sky territory but from your photos, your skies are big & blue and will give the Texas skies a challenge.

    1. I love wandering among these formations....very mysterious and surreal. And Texas has nothing on the wide open skies out here!

  5. With a horizon like that, you can take your pick of paths to go forward. If that's not freedom, I don't know what is.
